If I didn't know better I would swear that Jillian was at the gym with me last night and today. I stayed on that elliptical until I did 30 minutes. And I didn't lean one time!

Monday, January 25, 2010

Went to the gym tonight and did the elliptical for 15 on the aerobic program and did the treadmill for 30 minutes on the aerobic program. My blood sugar at lunch today was 114 which is fairly good. After exercising tonight it was 90. So exercise does help.

Wish I could get my blood pressure under the same kind of control.

I'm trying to decide how long do I keep doing what I'm doing exercise wise before I up my game. I certainly don't want to over extend and then not go back. Figure I'll keep doing what I'm doing for a while to see how I do then I'll decide what I need to do next.

My goal is to get into a smaller size pair of jeans by the end of March. Hopefully that will suffice with my doctor since I certainly won't be bringing in a knitted afghan...

I love going to the gym if for nothing else to see what folks will wear! It gives me almost the Wal Mart feeling. I'm not one for holding back my facial expressions. So I'm sure the folks there wonder what that fat dude from the Biggest Loser is smiling at!

I have to admit I did that Mr. Elliptical thing again tonight for 15 minutes and it wasn't as bad as the night before. I'm thinking I'll step it up next week. I'll do this for a week and then maybe I'll up the aerobic program on it. Just have to wait and see.

I did the treadmill aerobic program again tonight and it felt pretty good tonight. I noticed that my legs didn't cramp as much tonight as they had over the past couple of weeks. So I must be getting used to it. I'll step it up next week.

My blood pressure was 138/88 this morning. oh well...work in progress.
My blood sugar was great today. Took it this morning and it was 103 and again at lunch and it was 110. I'm excited about that. Meeting my goal for my blood sugar (would love nothing better than to come off these pills).

I ate my oatmeal and orange juice for breakfast. I had leftovers for lunch (meatloaf, kernel corn and steamed veggies), a banana, some cheese and a few snack crackers, and some great canteloupe!! For dinner, I decided to take after my little sister Kay...spaghetti night and a salad and a sugar free chocolate pudding with some light whipped cream. I must start counting points to make sure I'm staying within my limits.

Now my question for today. I watched the biggest loser last night. By the way this season is not as good as it was last season, but hey it's good. They showed the yellow team that got sent home. That old gentleman is limping like hell. Explain to me how he runs on that treadmill!!! I just need to understand that??? My ass would fall off like the Knoxville girl in PINK!! hehehe Now I'm going to bed and sulk about that!

Night!

What a day! Seemed like Monday all over again. I think stress is a big factor in why I eat the way I do. I really wish I could let things just pass by me without me fretting about them. Oh well...such is my life.

I really had to make myself go to the gym tonight. Kept thinking I would rather be on facebook doing my farming, trying to stand up straight on monkey world, or playing with all the other vampires on vampire world. Hell fishing even sounded better.

Once I got there I knew that I had done the right thing. I walked right up to Mr. Elliptical and said I'm going to conquer you if it's the last thing I ever do. May take me a year or two, but it's a goal.

I got on the elliptical and did the weight loss program for 15 minutes. Actually it wasn't too awful. Keep hoping that it will build up my ass. I have Mama's ass all over. hehehe

I then went to the treadmill and did the aerobics program. Did that for 30 minutes. Wasn't too bad either.

All in all I really felt good when I was done.

I came home and took my blood sugar and it was 100 (hit my goal). I took my blood pressure and it was 128/78 (hit my goal).

Felt like I did pretty good with my eating today. I had oatmeal for breakfast. I had a lean cuisine (you know they aren't that big either), 100 calorie peanut butter cracker, sugar free pudding, and an apple. For dinner, I had a serving of meatloaf, steamed veggies and a teeny tiny spoonful of potatoes. Dessert was 2 sugar free chocolate popsicles (2 pts on weight watchers).

So it's off to bed for dreams of fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravey, and Johnell's chocolate meringue pie (DAMN).

I know I'm torturing myself!

Good night!

Weight ???? - anything within range
Waking up and trying to decide what to do for breakfast. Normally I would get up and do what Mama would have done. Put the coffee on, drink a cup and start pulling together breakfast. She couldn't have had just sausage or bacon, but had to do both. If it was a holiday, like today, we would have had ham too! And of course the biscuits. Those bisquits were like Lays potato chips, you couldn't have just one. And I didn't. Throw in the jelly, honey, molasses, gravey (both brown gravey and possibly red eye gravey).

Those bisquits remind me of the time we all made our annual Thanksgiving trip home to see Mama and Daddy. Mother as always made breakfast for everyone that Thanksgiving day. Everything smelled so good. We sat down at the table for breakfast and of course I started my breakfast with two bisquits. I noticed when I ate the first one that they didn't taste quite right, but they were so fluffy and beautiful. They kept speaking to me. Sherri leaned over to me and whispered "Do the bisquits taste ok to you?". Of course my response back was sure...go on honey just your imagination.

After my second bisquit, I too had the idea that something wasn't quite right. Eventually word got around to everybody that something wasn't quite right with the bisquits this year. So me and the sisters got together and decided that they would take Mama to Wal Mart in an effort to make another round of bisquits to determine what went wrong. After they left, I made a few more and found that the funny taste was still there.

When Mama returned I reported to the sisters that I still couldn't determine where the funny taste was coming from. I finally decided the best idea was to just ask Mama what she thought. Never expected to hear what she told me. I laugh to this day about her story. Mama said they went to Williamsville to pick up the meat for breakfast. While they were at Williamsville, they decided to buy the flour for the bisquits. Williamsville puts their flour in burlap bags for those folks buying in bulk like Mama. Daddy of course carried his gasoline can for kerosene with him so that he could get that filled up at the same time. Of course the groceries go in the back of the pickup and so does the kerosene. Mama's take on the story is that some of the kerosene splashed out on the flour....

God only knows what would have happened had someone lit a cigarette that morning. Thank goodness we had all pretty much given up smoking. Can't explain the indigestion that comes with eating kerosene bisquits. Oh well....what I would give to be back at that table, of course with the bisquits made right!

Mama believed in feeding us well, even if we didn't have anything else, we were kept fed.

I'm off to my oatmeal and orange juice!

Today's Workout

I finally was motivated enough to get myself out and up to the gym today. Wasn't too bad in fact. Felt much better afterwards. There was one other guy there with me. I started on the treadmill and did 30 minutes on it while I watched HGTV. Guess that was better than watching the food network. Then I did the eliptical and did 10 minutes on it. This eliptical wooped my ass.

This dude at the gym made me giggle to myself. He was doing the body lifts where you lift your body up using your arms. To make the task more difficult, he put a chain around his waist and put a 50 pound weight on the end of it. I was hoping he was protected because that weight was just a swinging. I'm praying he wasn't injured. hehehe

Woke up this morning to have a bowl of cereal (Special K and 2% milk) and of course a cup of coffee. I had a couple of cups of veggie soup (weight watchers version) and a turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread.
